Meet Dr Sarah Lantz

Sarah is a writer, author, mother and advocate for healthy living and fermentation. She has a background in nutrition, public and environmental health and specializes in the area of child and youth health and wellbeing – conducting research at the University of Queensland surrounding Children’s Environmental Health.

Sarah is a business owner, nutritionist, writer, author, and mother. She has undergraduate degrees in public health and post graduate qualifications in women’s studies, nutrition and environmental health. Sarah was awarded her PhD from the University of Melbourne and post-doctoral research fellowship from the University of Queensland and was awarded an international scholarship from the University of Sydney. Her first book was released in 2009, Chemical Free Kids: Raising Healthy Children in a Toxic World, is a bestselling publication and has gone into its third reprint. One Bite at a Time: Reduce Toxic Exposure and Eat the World You Want was released in 2017 and her latest book is Forage Ferment Feast: Tales of Food and Family with Recipes for Restoring Gut Health, Connection, Healing and Wholeness was released in 2019. She has been an International delegate at Terra Madre Salone del Gusto, International Slow Food, Turin Italy, and a student of the acclaimed fermenter Sandor Katz. Sarah regularly presents nutrition, gut-health and fermentation workshops across Australia to engage parents and health practitioners in issues of building resiliency via whole food in children and families. Sarah is a mother, fledgling organic gardener, food activist and dedicated home cook. She lives in Brisbane with her two girls, puppy Vigo and rescued cat, Suzie-Bear.
